What makes us green
Why are we green?
We believe that a sustainable business needs to address customers, the community and the environment in every decision taken and action made.
How we are green?
- We use Biodiesel to fuel our vehicles
- Our website is hosted on a solar powered server
- Our administration and business development is powered through a green energy tariff
- We only used ethically sourced paper and bio-ink for our printing needs
- We are insured by and bank with The Co-operative who have a strong ethical policy
- We discourage customers using our services during rush hours by charging an additional £5 during these times
More about Biodiesel
The biodiesel we use is made from used vegetable oils collected throughout London and the South East which makes it a very green fuel that brings real benefits to the environment by turning a waste into a useful product which significantly reduces emissions.
- Chemically similar to diesel
- Burns up to 75% cleaner than diesel fuel made from fossil fuels
- Reduces atmospheric carbon dioxide increase by 100%
- 60% reduction in particulates (soot) and hydrocarbons
- Non toxic and biodegradable
- Reduces sulphur dioxide emissions by up to 100%
- Reduces carbon monoxide emissions by up to 50%
- Biodiesel is a renewable energy source
Rush hour additional charge
We encourage our customers to choose off-peak times for collections and deliveries, which has a 3-fold benefit - less time sat idling in traffic means less emissions and less time wasted, congestion is eased which take a load off the transport system. Every time we are hired to drive during rush hours (7am-9am and 4:30-6:30) we charge an additional £5 to the customer. Which will then in turn be donated to a local and socially responsible carbon offsetting scheme, LSCO.
